2021.2 London Fashion Week

Lupe Gajardo, celebrated for her innovative approach to fashion, unveiled her 2021.2 Collection during London Fashion Week, featured in the official calendar organized by the British Fashion Council. Lupe, a leading figure in both Chilean and global fashion, continues to push boundaries with a unique blend of sustainability and artistry that has captivated audiences in Berlin, New York, and beyond.

The 2021.2 Collection is an exploration of bold fabrics, intricate drapery, and vibrant color. This collection, which consists of 33 garments, exemplifies Lupe's commitment to zero-waste principles and genderless design. Drawing inspiration from art movements such as Dadaism and incorporating creative methods like origami, Lupe crafts garments that challenge conventional fashion norms, offering timeless pieces that blend the best of streetwear with haute couture.

A hallmark of the 2021.2 Collection is its dedication to zero-waste techniques. An impressive 94% of the collection—31 out of 33 garments—has been created using precise textile cuts, ensuring that no fabric is wasted. This innovative pattern-making method allows for the creation of complex, functional pieces that transcend traditional gender boundaries, resulting in versatile silhouettes that embrace the wearer's individuality.

Color plays a significant role in this collection, with tropically vivid shades of orange, fuchsia, and turquoise dominating the palette. These colors are featured in bold block formations across full-length gowns, while denim-printed separates add an urban edge. The collection’s materials, including cotton, silk, linen, alpaca, and wool, are sourced from diverse regions such as Kenya, Denmark, Chile, Brazil, China, the United Kingdom, and Peru, as well as upcycled scraps, underscoring Lupe's commitment to sustainability.

Each unique piece, limited series, and prototype in the collection is designed and manufactured in Chile at Lupe Gajardo’s atelier, with industrially produced garments designed in Chile and made in Peru. The collection’s distinctive look is completed with headdresses by Chilean designer Juan Daltónico, jewelry by ARA JWLS, and prop shoes, contributing to a cohesive and visually striking presentation.
